September marks the anniversary of the passing of Dave Shanklin, a man who gave his all with Habitat for Humanity to see futures changed and families strengthened. While his body gave way to the terrible disease ALS, his heart remained steadfast and focused on leaving a legacy that would continue to impact the lives of hard-working families in need of a hand up, not a hand out.
As we mark this anniversary, we want his legacy to live on.By establishing the Dave and Nancy Shanklin Endowment Fund, Dave and Nancy have ensured that future generations of children might also live in decent housing. To date, these funds have been used for home restoration (Preserve-A-Home) projects, landscaping, much needed tools for the Habitat Crew, and equipment that is essential to the home-building process.
Please consider a donation of any amount to continue this legacy and to help build the homes, communities, and hope that Dave and Nancy envisioned. Please click "Donate" on this page or mail your donation to 1400 Raff Road SW, Canton, OH 44710.The dedication and commitment Dave and Nancy Shanklin have shown to the Habitat for Humanity ministry serves as an inspiration to many. Their generosity has been driven by their desire to see all of God’s children in decent, affordable homes throughout East Central Ohio.
