PHASE TWO Volunteer Parking Information: Upon arrival at Habitat ReStore, please drive to the back of the building and park along the drive near the grass.

Thank you for helping Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio complete a large-scale Deconstruction at the historic McKinley Grand Hotel in downtown Canton!

The McKinley Grand was recently purchased by Hall of Fame Village, owners of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Beginning in November, Hall of Fame Village will tackle a complete renovation of the hotel as part of their commitment to the revitalization and redevelopment of Canton. Before their work begins, Habitat had the wonderful opportunity to remove all the usable items and materials from the hotel and its 166 guest rooms—beds, desks, lighting fixtures, couches, tables, chairs, and many other valuable items. These items will be sold at Habitat ReStore in Canton, recycled for additional funding, or used for other Habitat projects. In the end, proceeds from this Deconstruction will go directly to revitalizing neighborhoods in the City of Canton through new construction, preservation construction and critical home repair projects. Not only that, but by repurposing and recycling usable materials, Hall of Fame Village is keeping dumpsters and landfills cleaner. Everyone benefits!

PHASE TWO: As of November 14, 2019, Habitat volunteers and staff were able to COMPLETELY clear out the contents of the McKinley Grand Hotel's 166 guest rooms...but the work's not done yet! PHASE TWO of this immense project will consist of resetting the Habitat ReStore, so we can prepare for all of the items we have removed from the hotel. We are asking all volunteers to register for the remaining volunteer days join us at Habitat for Humanity ReStore instead of at the McKinley Grand Hotel.

We need still need your help in a huge way! This Deconstruction project is an incredible blessing and a big undertaking—that's where you come in. Volunteer tasks include:
- Rearranging the ReStore sales floor
- Building display shelves
- Moving furniture
- Loading/unloading items in and out of Habitat’s moving trucks
-Merchandising and pricing items

Volunteers 16 years and up are welcome to join this Deconstruction. Wear closed to shoes and Habitat will provide lunch and all of the necessary tools. Keep scrolling for more information on what to expect while volunteering, and email kdurbin@habitateco.org or call 330-915-5888 if you have questions.
