    Family and Current Housing
The Poole family has a history in Tuscarawas County, where both Albert and Shanie grew up in various trailers and cities. For the past 8 years, they have been living in a trailer in Mineral City. Unfortunately, their current housing situation is far from ideal, with various issues. Their trailer has been plagued with water damage issues. The windows frequently let in water, forcing the family to reseal them. There is water damage in the bedrooms and the kitchen. Water is also leaking under the house, and the floor beneath the toilet is rotting. The absence of skirting around the trailer causes the water lines to freeze in the winter. There are weak spots under the metal roof, which is concerning. Moreover, several electrical outlets in the bedrooms and living room are unusable, indicating electrical issues that need attention. A concerning incident with an intoxicated neighbor driving over the children’s playset has limited their outdoor playtime due to safety concerns. The Poole family is eager to provide a better home for their children, and they have attempted to secure a conventional mortgage but have been denied. They have since joined the Habitat program, actively participating by helping build Habitat homes with other families in the program, working in the Habitat warehouse, and completing homebuyer education classes. Their children have also contributed sweat equity hours by organizing volunteer bags.

    A Bright Future
Albert is currently employed as a Mixer at Nilodor, while Shanie is a homemaker. The family enjoys outdoor activities like fishing, cookouts, and sitting around a campfire. When asked about their hopes for their new home, Albert and Shanie express their excitement about finally being able to provide their children with the home opportunity they never had. They believe that homeownership will bring happiness and satisfaction, allowing their children to grow and make lasting memories.
