  • Family and Current Housing

Brittany, a Canton native, currently lives in a home shared with her father and other family members. She and her four-year-old son, Breeze, share a bedroom, and the space has become increasingly crowded as he grows. After spending time away from the area and experiencing a difficult relationship, Brittany found herself raising Breeze without nearby support. Wanting to ensure she had the resources she needed as a mother, she returned to Canton to regain stability and be close to family. Although she secured steady employment, finding an affordable rental proved challenging, and homeownership felt even further out of reach. When she learned about the Habitat program, she finally saw a pathway forward—a real opportunity to address her housing needs and build a stable future. Since joining the program, Brittany has demonstrated tremendous dedication. She has completed her sweat-equity hours at the ReStore, Habitat workshop, and across several Habitat ECO construction sites, helping other partner families build their homes. In spring 2025, she completed her homebuyer education classes, gaining valuable skills in budgeting, financial planning, and home maintenance.

    A Bright Future

Brittany works as a Referral Specialist at Stark County Job and Family Services, where she has been serving the community for more than two years. She and Breeze share a close, joyful bond and love spending their time going on walks, playing basketball, and catching movies together. Brittany is excited for the chance to provide a home where she and Breeze can grow in independence and stability—creating the safe, steady foundation every family deserves.
