Family and Current Housing

Tiffanie was raised in the Massillon community and is excited to build her home and continue raising her sons in the place she calls home. Her current two-bedroom rental has several serious issues: multiple inoperable windows, front and back doors with visible drafts (you can literally see outside through the back door), and a roof that has allowed pests— including squirrels and even a possum—into the house. One night, a squirrel made it all the way to the end of her bed after entering through the damaged roof. The front porch is also a concern; it’s bowing due to uneven support pillars. Although the landlord attempted a repair, the issue persists. Mold is present throughout the unit, contributing to her youngest son’s respiratory issues—he has contracted pneumonia twice in recent months, requiring hospitalization. One of Tiffanie’s biggest concerns is the location. Her rental is next door to a bar, and during busy nights, she often feels unsafe. Despite the rising rent, essential repairs have not been made, and she fears the home will soon become unaffordable. Since joining Habitat, Tiffanie has fully embraced the journey. She has completed her homebuyer education classes, gaining skills in financial wellness, home and lawn maintenance, personal development, and more. Always willing to go the extra mile, she even helped write and co-facilitate one of the homebuyer classes. Tiffanie openly shares her story to encourage others and is a constant source of support for fellow partner families.

A Bright Future

Tiffanie works as a Senior Peer Coach at Lifeline Screening, where she has been employed for over seven years. She and her children love sports, movies, traveling to the ocean, and dining out together. Her sons, Bricen and Giovanni, are especially excited about their future home. Bricen can’t wait to have his own room, which he plans to decorate in Baltimore Ravens colors—his favorite player is Andre Reed, whom he met at the Boys & Girls Club in Massillon. Giovanni looks forward to having a large beanbag chair in his room and loves the movie Black Panther. Tiffanie is most excited to finally have a home of her own—one that will offer her family safety, stability, and a sense of peace.
