FAMILY AND CURRENT HOUSING
Jeff and Kim Jobes long to provide a stable, decent, affordable home for their children. That’s why they’ve partnered with Habitat for Humanity. In 2006, the couple moved in with Kim’s mother and grandparents so that Kim, a home health aide, could help care for them. In the years following, the Jobes family grew to include the couple’s three children and before long, the small two bedroom home had become quite crowded. Currently, there are eight people living in the house and the time is right for the Jobes to find a home of their own for their family of five. While weighing their housing options, the couple was encouraged to apply for the Habitat homeownership program by an administrator at Minerva Elementary School. Jeff and Kim took that advice and are now well on their way to owning a new home for their family. Nine-year-old Joslynn is the oldest of the Jobes kids. She loves the outdoors, fishing, camping, and crafting. Her parents describe her as very smart and always wanting to learn new things. She stays busy participating in softball and martial arts. Middle-child Jayden is very girly and loves princesses and all things pink. She also enjoys fishing and flowers, and is described as being very helpful and sweet. Kadin is the youngest, and at age four enjoys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, videos games, and playing outside. Together, the Jobes family enjoys going to the movies, fishing, playing board games, and just being together.

A BRIGHT FUTURE
Throughout their time in the partnership, Jeff and Kim have worked together to complete numerous hours of sweat equity at ReStore and in House2Home education classes. They look forward to the days spent building their own future home alongside volunteers. Along with completing Habitat requirements and helping raise their five children, Jeff works hard to financially provide for his family. He has been employed with RB’s Truck and Trailer as a heavy truck mechanic for roughly twelve years. Soon, all Jeff and Kim’s hard work will pay off and the Jobes family will own a home of their own! “We are looking forward to the freedom of owning our own home,” the couple said. “It will be nice to decorate and give the kids their own rooms.”

In Support of Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio
As a grassroots Christian housing ministry serving Stark, Carroll, Tuscarawas, Harrison, and Jefferson Counties, Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio is driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live. People partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering, or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.
