FAMILY AND CURRENT HOUSING
For the past three years Kate and Kevin have lived in a family member’s house where they have seen firsthand the benefits of being homeowners. Although they are grateful to their relative for sharing their home, the couple knows the house is now overcrowded and not the best housing option for their family. Kate and Kevin briefly looked into renting but had trouble locating a property that was affordable and decided to apply to the Habitat homeownership program. The couple has one daughter, Hailee, who they jokingly refer to as a little princess. Kevin has joint custody of his sons, Kevin Jr. and Nick, who spend summers and holidays with Kate and Kevin. Together the family enjoys watching movies, biking, swimming, and visiting amusement parks.

A BRIGHT FUTURE
Over the past months they have been involved in the Habitat program, Kate and Kevin have shown themselves to be hard workers dedicated to making their dream of homeownership a reality. The couple has worked together to complete numerous hours of sweat equity on worksites, at ReStore, and in House2Home education classes. Along with completing Habitat requirements and raising their children, both Kate and Kevin work hard to financially provide for their family. Kate has been employed in the frame shop at Pat Catan’s for roughly eight years. Kevin works for Miller and Company. Soon, all their hard work will pay off and their family will have a safe, decent, affordable home of their own! When asked what they look forward to most, Kate responded “I am so looking forward to having a stable home for my daughter to grown up in!”
